June 20-24, 2011 - Wakefield's Summer Night Shopping Spree Week - Many retail stores, restaurants, and salons will be open each night until 8pm for shoppers to discover what is available here in town.  Skip the mall and come to Downtown Wakefield during Spree Week!  Gone to the Dogs will expand it's regular hours to include Monday from 2-8pm and closing at 8pm each night during Spree Week.

June 18, 2011 - Wakefield is holding it's annual sidewalk sale on the downtown portions of Main and Albion Streets.  Come on down and SAVE!  We will have a selection of merchandise available at great prices. 

December 4, 2010 - Holiday Stroll!  Main Street and the downtown portion of Albion Street will be shut down to traffic after 1 pm and the stroll begins at 4 pm.  Walk from store to store from 4 pm -7 pm, enjoy the holiday cheer provided by Wakefield's retailers, and save on wonderful holiday gifts.  Be sure to stop by GTTD - we will have some yummy snacks and warm beverages. Not to be missed!

November 20, 2010 - Customer Appreciation Day!  Stop by and save - one of our ways to say "Thank You for another terrific year"!  Gift bags, samples, and raffles will be given to all who attend.
 
November 18, 2010 - An Evening at Gone to the Dogs happens from 6pm -9pm.  Stop in and get a first-hand look at the holiday gifts we are stocking this year.  We are hosting trunk shows for 4 different vendors offering collars, leashes, coats, toys, bedding, and treats.  Meet Jane from Scarlett Dream Coats, Annmarie from Schnoodleware, Tim from Goodness Gracious, and Jack from Woofwerks.  Lisa will also be on hand with her selection of Stella & Dot jewelry.

November 13, 2010 - Photo Day!  Book your slot for your dog's photo session.

November 2010 - Every Saturday throughout the month of November, Lisa will be here with her Stella & Dot jewelry.  Come by and see her selections for women and girls - nice holiday gift idea!  10% of all jewelry sales will be donated to a local rescue and anyone booking a trunk show will receive a $50 gift card to GTTD!

August 14, 2010 - Come to Wakefield's first Italian Festival!  Walk along downtown Main and Albion Streets between 4 pm and 7 pm and enjoy Italian foods, music, entertainment, and so much more!  Be sure to visit us here on Albion Street.  We will have some fun ways for your dog to celebrate his or her Italian side!

December 5, 2009 - Join us on Saturday, December 5 from 3pm-7pm for the first 'Tis The Season Holiday Stroll event happening in downtown Wakefield.  Events for children and adults will be scattered throughout Main and Albion Streets.  Carolers, musicians, actors, and performers of all kinds will be on hand to ring in the holiday season!  Retailers will be offering specials for shoppers and holiday cheer!  For more information go to www.wakefield.ma.us

We celebrate our 2nd birthday this month!  Thank you for your continuing support.  Our Customer Appreciation Day was a terrific event with store-wide discounts and free treats - for dogs and their people!  We look forward to another great year and continuing to serve you and your beloved pets in the style only found here at Gone to the Dogs.

July 2009 - Gone to the Dogs has hit the road!  See us at the Wakefield Farmers Market every Saturday through October 17!  The Farmers Market is located at Hall Park, North Avenue in Wakefield from 9 am to 1 pm.  In addition to our Farmers Market location, our store at 55 Albion Street is open on Saturdays, 10 am to 4 pm.

July 2008 - Announcement - We Now Carry Dog Food!

We are very happy to add Innova and Merrick dog foods to our store.  Several requests had been made since we opened asking us to bring food in.  After much research and consultation, these 2 lines were selected.  More food lines will be added in the future.  Thanks for the suggestions!

June 2008 - A Very Special Thank You!

 At the end of June we received notification that Gone to the Dogs has been awarded an Honorable Mention in the Community Newspaper’s Readers Choice Award Contest.  Wow!  Many thanks to those who voted for us!  We are especially touched that we were considered since we had only been open a couple of months when the voting took place!  We are very grateful for the recognition and will continue to make every effort to provide the highest level of quality and service possible.  Thank you!

April 26, 2008 - Pet Portrait Day

We will be hosting a dog Portrait Day on Saturday, April 26, 2008.  Dawn from Absolutely Canine (www.absolutelycaninephotography.com) will be here, capturing your dogs best look!  Photos will be perfect for Mother's Day or Father's Day gifts or as a wonderful addition to your collection of family photos.  Additional subjects can be accommodated. 

Your private 20 minute session includes 2 5x7's, an online photo gallery of the session, and a goody bag.  The sitting fee is $40.  Additional photos can be purchased separately.

Stop by to book your appointment as soon as possible.  

March 27, 2008 - Ask the Trainer Night

We are hosting an Ask the Trainer night, Thursday, March 27 at 7 pm.  Bring your leashed dog and your questions!  Paul Emerson, CPDT will be providing answers and offering solutions to your dog training issues.  Emerson is the owner of Family Dog Training in Hudson, MA www.family-dog-training.com.  He is also a Training and Behavior Consultant, an AKC-certified Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator, and a breeder of Bernese Mountain Dogs.
